Three years since completion in September 2019, FMA have marked the occasion with new images of Barnstaple Museum commissioned from Andy Marshall, capturing how the project has enhanced the museum’s presence and accessibility within the historic townscape and stunning riverside location.

The museum’s new wing has been considered a great success, increasing visitor numbers and local engagement. The exhibits in the museum promote the town’s history of making, which has helped make more visible the contemporary ‘makers’ in the region. Local ceramic artist, Taz Pollard, was commissioned to design and fabricate the terracotta frieze panels on the external façade which references exhibits within the museum.
