FMA are pleased to be assisting B&NES Council with the repair and upgrade of the Grade II Listed Jolly’s department store in Bath.
The historic store originated here in the 1820’s and then grew to encompass 7-14 Milsom St, and through to the buildings along John St to the rear, providing over 8,000m2 total floor area with an array of ornate plasterwork and stained glass rooflights. The proposals include extensive roof renewal works, window and door refurbishment, plus external wall repairs and improvements to the drainage of the interconnected roof forms. FMA carried out a series of on-site investigations throughout 2024, plus research into the historic development of the site in order to inform Listed Building Consent applications for the works, leading to preparation of detailed design packages for Tender.
The project is due to start on site in 2025.
