Refurbishment and conversion of a derelict five-storey Edwardian Grade II Listed building into new office space.
Ferguson Mann Architects were invited to convert a prime corner site in a central street in Reading for TCN UK, developers of office and co-working spaces.
The derelict five-storey Edwardian Grade II Listed building retains many interior heritage features and the designs aim to repair and preserve much of the historic interior. The conversion will see key heritage spaces and features, restored and defunct services replaced. The scheme plans to open-up cellular spaces, creating a contemporary office within the roof structure which complements the retained elements of the historic building. Our approach prioritises retaining heritage fabric, using new materials that will age in harmony with the existing building. Planning was granted in the summer of 2018, with construction starting later that year.
