Winterbourne Medieval Barn, built in 1342, is Grade II* Listed. For over 20 years it was the subject of neglect, disuse and accelerating dereliction and so was on the Heritage at Risk register. In 1997, following the issue of an urgent works notice, the local authority purchased the barn.

FMA undertook repairs to the Main Barn in 2003, grant aided by English Heritage. The works included extensive masonry repairs, and restoring the function of the roof structure by lifting the trusses back into position and reinstating the original mortice and tenon joints.

In 2007 FMA obtained planning permission for creating rural enterprise units in and on the site of the former farm buildings.
