Proposals for a new extension to the Lyme Regis Philpot Museum, a Grade II Listed building enjoying a spectacular coastal location at the heart of the town, with panoramic views of Lyme Bay and views beyond to the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline.

The museum is dedicated to palaeontology and also tells the story of Lyme Regis and its people.

The proposed two-storey extension provides a new education suite and improved retail and visitor facilities with a new stair and lift provided to improve access and circulation. In contrast to the highly ornate style of the historic building, the contemporary addition is simple and distinct from the existing in both form and materials.
