The repair and refurbishment of a Grade II Listed Georgian villa into 4 residential apartments and the introduction of 6 new houses and 3 new apartments, all in a conservation area.
FMA was appointed to return the site back to residential use, following a refused application by another architect. Our approach was to demolish a 1960s office extension to the existing villa and introduce a group of new buildings organised around a new public mews.
The new buildings comprised a single ‘gate’ house, 5 townhouses in the form of a terrace and a new villa that contained 3 apartments. All constructed using coloured render and roofed in natural slate to complement the existing villa.
