A new library, restoration of the existing town hall building and the creation of a public square and park.

Won through competition, the project provides an exemplary restoration of the Town Hall and surrounding environs whilst delivering a state-of-the-art library facility in a new two storey wing.

The plan carefully connects the new library extension to the original building via its main staircase, following a similar footprint to the 1902 competition wing that was never constructed.
